World Environment Day is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022 under the slogan #OnlyOneEarth. Since 5 June 1972, this special day has been dedicated to raising global awareness and encouraging action to protect the environment.
Melting polar ice caps, the extinction of countless animal and plant species, and natural disasters – these are the consequences of climate change that are affecting the state of our planet. Everyone can play their part, even with small steps.
Let´s take care of IT
As a medium-sized company, we focus on the reuse and refurbishment of second-hand IT products. We use paper packaging for our shipments.
Because of our strong ties to the region, we are also involved in other environmental projects. For example, in 2021 we took part in the "My Tree for Magdeburg" fundraising campaign and planted our very own ‘it-market’ tree in Magdeburg.
In 2022, we supported the regional bee conservation project "Bienotopia", which is dedicated to preserving habitats for wild bees in the region. As part of the project, so-called biosphere reserves are being created: biotopes comprising plant, tree and flower species that provide new habitats for wild bees and other pollinators.
Every square meter for the bees counts!
So we are also, for the next 12 months, the proud owner of a 10m² plot in the bee reserve near the Teufelsmauer - between Cattenstedt and Timmenrode.
Another project we supported in 2022 is "I Plant A Tree". The idea behind it is to reforest woodlands and work towards the long-term protection of trees. We chose the Ramsenberg project in the Southern Harz and had 105 trees planted there, in cooperation with the Saxony-Anhalt State Forestry Service. Through this project, we have supported forest regeneration in the Southern Harz. The South Harz forest district is certified in accordance with PEFC and FSC standards.
